Help us pray for…

Prayer Request - August 11, 2025

Lord, we pray that You will help us to emulate Phoebe when we are called to do so.  Help us to give off Your light to those around us that they may know who You are.  Help us to bring the light into their darkness and lead them to Your light.  Help us to share the Your light, even if only in 'small' ways.

Help us adults to have the faith and trust in You that small children have.  As we get older, that becomes harder, and harder, to do.  Grant that we may find the courage to let go of all our "adult wisdom" (from the world) and just be YOUR trusting child.

Help us to especially influence the young people as they grow so they will remain in You even though it may be difficult as they become adults.

Lord, thank you for all the promises You have given us.  Thank you for always being close by, providing for us, and guiding us.  Give us wisdom and discernment to hear Your "still, small voice".  Help us to be still in this action-addicted world and know that You, and You alone, are God; and that we may have complete confidence and trust in Your Word.

Lord, we pray for those around the world who are experiencing political unrest, war, and other "unpeaceful" situations.  We pray You will infuse the leaders involved with Your wisdom, discernment and a heart for peace.  We pray especially for our brothers and sisters in such situations; we pray for their safety, that their message will be heard and that You will bless them in all the special ways You know they need.

== Fran and Al H. need continuing prayers as Fran is feeling the effects of her end-stage cancer.  Please pray for peace and comfort for both her and Al as they face this transition.

== Randy, Rachael's brother-in-law, also needs prayers in his cancer fight.  He was scheduled for a bone marrow transplant last Thursday.  Pray that all went well and that the procedure will be successful.

== Anita, the daughter of Verna's friend Jean, is having serious stomach issues and was transferred to a Tucson hospital because the Bisbee hospital could not help her.  Please pray the medical team will be able to treat her and she will be able to return home soon.  Pray also for her family as it is hard to have someone in the hospital so far from home.

== Austin, grandson of Doug's cousin, is recovering from foot and ankle surgery.  Please pray for a speedy recovery for him without complications.  This is the third or fourth surgery on his feet and ankles and he is barely 7 years old!

== Skye, Val's friend, is finishing her massage therapy boards this weekend.  Please pray that all goes well for her and she will have peace during this stressful situation.  She also has an unspoken request.  God knows what is needed.  Please pray for a good resolution for her.

== Bob T. is struggling with back pain and poor circulation in his legs.  This makes it difficult to get around.  Please pray he will recover quickly and be more mobile.  Pray also for Sandy as his caregiver.

== Ellen, Jim N's sister, is having surgery this week.  Please pray for a successful procedure for her and a quick recovery without any complications.

== The U of A Marching Band members start camp this week.  Please pray for all of them as they begin this school year.  Pray especially for their new drum major, our own Samm A.!

== Please pray for the Mescalero Apache Reformed Church.  The pastoral candidate they chose to lead them has withdrawn their name.  They must now begin the search process once again.  Please pray for God's wisdom and discernment for the search committee as they begin again and that God will show them the right candidate for their church family.

== Pray also for our search committee members as they continue the process now.

PRAISE AND PRAYERS!

== Robin, Dawn's sister-in-law, has a good resolution to her unspoken request.  PRAISE GOD!!  Please pray God will continue to provide all that is needed for her and her family during this difficult time.

==  **** Don and Nada **** are celebrating their 68th wedding anniversary this weekend.  PRAISE GOD for their tremendous faith and love over the years, and for spreading that faith and love to people all over the world.  Pray that God will continue to bless them and provide all they need in the coming years.

== Please say special prayers for our military men and women past and present.  They bought (and continue to pay for) our nation's freedoms.  Pray for comfort, peace, discernment, and courage for each of them and their families.  We know it takes as much, or more, courage to face the future for those who have returned home; pray God will provide for each of them.  Let us be thankful, we can worship in freedom and enjoy many other freedoms, because our military's courage, valor, and honor paid the cost to buy those privileges for us.  Pray God will be with each one who returned from battle; that each may have His peace amidst their struggles and His strength and courage in the face of difficult circumstances.  Pray He will be with those who still serve in dangerous areas; giving them His peace, keeping them safe, and giving them wisdom and discernment for each of the situations they face.

-- Please continue to pray for the first responders, especially our law enforcement officers, around the country as they try to help those in need.  Many do their jobs day in and day out, despite the very real threats to their safety and the "defunding" battles that affect everything they do.  They carry a tremendous burden, both physically and emotionally, and provide a very necessary service.  Pray for God to be with their families also, as these things make a difficult  environment even worse and so very much more difficult (emotionally/relationally) for them too.

-- Please continue to pray for our country.  Pray for the safety and well-being of our leaders, their staff and their families.  Pray that all our leaders, elected and appointed, will turn to God for guidance, wisdom and discernment.  Pray also that the democratic process will be protected for the future and that violence will not become the only answer people have when they don't like something or someone.  Pray the media will begin to give unbiased reports as they should and that the leaders and media will not abuse their power and position for their personal gain and agendas.  Pray God will help them understand the responsibility they have to the people they serve.
